The Power of Social Media

While we are still in the first month of 2020 I have confirmed that the power of social media is quite powerful. The martial arts gym I go to hosted their first successful event of the year (many more to come). The event not only attracted new customers, but also owners from other martial arts gyms. A huge camp, with the best Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu fighters, all came together under one roof “Black House Miami Beach”. The camp was held for 10 days and this meant that current students had the chance to either train with, take a photo and watch one of the best Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu fighters in the game, fight (duh).

The power of social media keeps rising. Various instagram posts attracted new customers, and it also attracted other gyms to hire these fighters to host seminars at their gyms as well. Today, more than 2.60 billion people have social media accounts. Numbers don’t lie, and with an expected increase of 3.1 billion by 2021, as a business, you should NOT be left behind without a social media platform. Content is crucial for any business and the more content you create, the better chance you have in attracting your targeted consumers.

Below, you will see two ideas of content that can be used for a martial arts gym. Gordon Ryan, one of the best Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu fighters is teaching a technique. The photo attracted a lot of new followers, not only because of the great content but also thanks to the #hashtags that were created. For one thing, without content, SEOs would have nothing to optimize for search engines. Every single email, every single tweet, every single post and #hashtag, and every description—they’re all examples of content.
